Special equipment for ALMATEC air-operated diaphragm pumps

A wide range of customised special equipment rounds off the ALMATEC pump programme. This means we can precisely match an ALMATEC pump to your specific application.

 

Pulsation damper

If the application requires an almost uniform flow rate, pulsation dampers of various types are available. The E SERIES pumps can be fitted with either a screw-on or flanged pulsation damper and inline dampers are available for the CHEMICOR and BIOCOR pump series.

Barrier chamber system

The ALMATEC barrier chamber system meets more stringent safety requirements. The single diaphragm is replaced by a tandem arrangement of two diaphragms with a PE conductive barrier chamber in between, which is filled with a neutral liquid. Sensors register the change in conductivity of the sealing liquid and report it to a switching device to trigger an alarm or switch off the pump.

Diaphragm monitoring

A capacitive sensor in the pump's silencer registers any liquid that has reached this point due to a diaphragm rupture and sends a corresponding pulse to a switching device, which then triggers an alarm or switches off the pump via a solenoid valve.

Stroke counting

ALMATEC air-operated diaphragm pumps are used continuously in 24-hour operation or intermittently over a few hours, minutes or for a precisely defined number of working strokes. The working strokes can be recorded via a sensor installed in the centre housing of the pump (also available as a pneumatic version).

Flange connections

The centre housings of E-SERIES pump sizes E 15 to E 80 can be fitted with threaded bushes and flange O-rings for flange connections to DIN/PN 10 (ANSI also possible) and thus comply with the safety standard in the industry. The flange connection in PN16 is standard for the AH series.

Backwash system

E-SERIES pumps, sizes 15 to 50, are available with the special ALMATEC backwash system. This consists of a bypass system in the side housings, which is activated manually via manual valves or pneumatically. This allows the pump and pipework to be drained when installed. When changing products, the amount of cleaning agent and solvent required is considerably reduced, thus making a significant contribution to reducing any environmental impact. The design of the metal pumps in the CHEMICOR series have a slightly different approach. In this series, all four valve balls can be lifted from the valve seats by manually operated ball lifters.

Compressed air supply

For the professional and gentle operation of an air-operated diaphragm pump, it is important to have a maintenance unit upstream of the pump that can not only regulate the pressure and flow rate, but also ensures that the pump is supplied with clean and dry air. This increases the service life of the pump and enables infinitely variable regulation of the delivery pressure and flow rate
