Schmitt U
Description
Details:
- Design: Block construction
- Material: PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride)
- delivery rate: 500 l/min
- delivery head: 40 m
- Motor power: 0.18 -5.5 KW
In this series, the impeller is driven by a shaft. The shaft bushing is sealed by low-maintenance internal mechanical seals.
In order to match the centrifugal pumps in the U series to the pumped liquid, 3 shaft seal versions are available.
- Version A: No wetted metal parts in the pump. The impeller is fitted with a shaft protector. The surface pressure in the sliding gap is generated with the aid of a sleeve.
- Version B: The mechanical seal is spring-loaded. The impeller is fitted with a shaft protector. The Hastelloy spring nib is in contact with the medium.
- Version C: The mechanical seal is spring-loaded. The impeller has no shaft protector and the metal parts in contact with the medium (shaft sleeve, impeller insert and spring) are available in stainless steel or Hastelloy.
All versions of the U series are suitable for media temperatures up to 95ºC. Depending on the operating conditions, different materials are available for the mechanical seals.
Sliding materials:
- Carbon, ceramic or silicon carbide
- Elastomers:
- FKM (e.g. Viton®), EPDM, FEP or Kalrez®
This series can also be equipped with a double-acting mechanical seal. (Type U-DO)
Double-acting mechanical seals require the addition of a sealing liquid.
Electric actuators in three-phase or alternating current as well as in three-phase current explosion-proof or pressure-resistant design. All motors can also be supplied with abnormal voltages and frequencies. The performance curves were determined with 2-pole 50Hz motors and with water, measured at 20°C.
Advantages:
- Universally applicable
- Insensitive to contamination of the pumped medium by magnetic solids
- Also suitable for viscous media
Application examples:
- Seawater systems and aquariums
- Textile operations
- Cleaning systems
- Photo development
- Electroplating
