Wilden Pro-Flo® SHIFT Air Distribution System Simple. Reliable. Efficient.
In light of rising energy costs and companies’ growing awareness of sustainable manufacturing, many producers are seeking to develop new manufacturing and production methods.
To achieve this goal, choosing the right compressed air diaphragm pump is essential. It should operate sustainably and efficiently, thereby helping to reduce energy consumption and production costs, as well as increasing operational safety and improving environmental performance.
The inefficiency in the operation of conventional compressed air diaphragm pumps lies in the time delay that occurs when compressed air is transferred from one air chamber to the other. This leads to overfilling of the air chamber, with the excess air being vented into the atmosphere without having any positive effect on the pumping process.
Thanks to its energy-efficient design, the Wilden® Pro-Flo® SHIFT Air Distribution System (ADS) helps air-operated double-diaphragm pumps (AODD) optimise air consumption and reduce energy usage and costs, whilst adhering to the principles of sustainable manufacturing.
To prevent overfilling, the design and operation of the Pro-Flo SHIFT ADS limits the air flow into the air chamber towards the end of each pump stroke, ensuring that only as much air is supplied as is necessary for the pumping process. The key to this is the incorporation of a special pilot piston, which automatically meters the air to prevent overfilling without compromising production output. The result is lower air consumption whilst maintaining the same operational efficiency and flow rate.
Compared to other compressed air diaphragm pumps, the Pro-Flo® SHIFT Air Distribution System from Wilden® consumes up to 60% less compressed air. It operates reliably and efficiently, achieving flow rates that are up to 34% higher than those of other manufacturers of compressed air diaphragm pumps.
