Schmitt P
Description
Normal-priming peripheral impeller pumps: P series
Note: P130 series has been replaced by P140
Design:
- Chemical-resistant, single-stage plastic peripheral impeller pump in close-coupled design, with magnetic coupling, normal priming
Features:
- Hermetically sealed and absolutely leak-free, as there is no shaft seal as a matter of principle
- Non-contact magnetic actuator with high-performance neodymium magnets
- Virtually maintenance-free in normal operation thanks to generously dimensioned plain bearings
- All wetted parts made of high-quality, corrosion-resistant plastics (PVDF or PP-GF)
- Equipped with threaded connections to ISO 228-1 as standard
- Universally applicable, compact and quiet
- Approved for use in potentially explosive environments (ATEX Zone 2)
- Corrosion-resistant paint finish in RAL 1017, saffron yellow
- All screws made of V4A stainless steel (1.4571)
- All wetted materials with FDA approval (PVDF series)
Areas of application:
Pumping acids, alkalis or other corrosive, harmful or toxic liquids in applications where leakage of even the smallest quantities is undesirable and a hermetically sealed pump is required.
Pumping of high-purity or sensitive liquids where contamination of the pumped liquid with foreign matter must be avoided.
For example in the following applications:
- Electroplating and surface coating
- Wet chemical processes in semiconductor technology, solar cell production and printed circuit board manufacturing
- Waste water and fresh water treatment
- Laboratory and medical technology
- Environmental technology, exhaust gas purification, gas scrubbers
- Battery production, energy storage
- High purity applications, demineralised water, ultra-pure water
Technical data
Materials:
- Housing and impeller materials: PVDF, PP
- Elastomer materials: EPDM, FKM (e.g. Viton®), FEP, FFKM (e.g. Kalrez®)
- Plain bearing materials: PTFE-GF, Al2O3 ceramic, SiC (silicon carbide)
The P series is designed according to the peripheral wheel principle. The special impeller and housing geometry
enable high pressures. The motor power is transmitted contact-free and wear-free via a magnetic coupling through the closed housing wall (containment shell) to the pump impeller.
Advantages:
- Very precise control possible due to linear performance curve
- Hermetically sealed and absolutely leak-free, as there is no shaft seal
- Ideal for use with toxic, environmentally hazardous and aggressive media
- Very suitable for pumping low-boiling liquids
The maximum media temperature is 60°C. This pump is also available in an Atex-certified version under the designation P-EX for use in ATEX zone 2.
