Why is ATEX relevant for pharmaceutical manufacturing?
ATEX, short for 'ATmosphères EXplosibles,' refers to the European directives for explosion protection in environments with flammable gases, vapors, mists or dusts. These directives apply to installations, machines and equipment.
Many production areas used in pharmaceutical manufacturing are classified under ATEX regulations due to the use of solvents and other combustible ingredients. These environments require rigorous build specifications for all equipment installed in zoned areas. All our Ex-marked pumps are designed to meet those requirements.
