Fink dosing pumps Ritmo®033 Ex
Description
R033 dosing pumps in explosion-proof design
Ex-protected dosing pumps Ritmo®033 Ex have the same design characteristics and the high functionality of a Ritmo®033 dosing pump. They have an electronically controlled discharge characteristic, can be fitted with stainless steel or PTFE pump heads and achieve a pressure build-up of up to 16 bar.
Structure
Compared to the Ritmo®033 dosing pumps, Ritmo®033 Ex dosing pumps are designed for use in Zone 1 and 2 potentially explosive atmospheres. They are assigned to explosion group IIB and can dispense liquid and flammable media.
The explosion protection design is based on type of protection EEx p in accordance with EC Directive 2014/34/EU.
The R033-Ex consists of a pump housing with independent Ex-e approval, an Ex-p control unit with flushing and pressure control function, proportional valve technology with automatic leakage compensation.
The pump head located outside the Ex housing is decoupled from the Ex housing. A leak in the diaphragm or a diaphragm rupture does not lead to the penetration of dosing liquid into the explosion-proof housing.

The explosion protection of the Ritmo®033 Ex dosing pump is ensured by pressurising the hermetically sealed pump housing.
The pump housing is designed to the IP54 standard and has Ex-e approval.
An over-pressure of 12 mbar is applied to the Ex enclosure via a purge connection. Air/compressed air or nitrogen is channelled into the housing for this purpose. The over-pressure in the pump housing prevents potentially explosive atmospheres from entering the pump housing.
An Ex-p control unit with flushing and pressure control function located in the pump housing and proportional valve technology with automatic leakage compensation ensure that the housing overpressure is maintained.
Automation capability
The Ritmo®033 Ex dosing pump can be connected to external control units in potentially explosive atmospheres and has a high level of automation capability under explosion protection conditions. Ex-routed interface relays in an Ex-routed terminal box isolate the input signals from the pump. It can be operated via start/stop or via a 4-20 mA analogue interface.
Material equipment:
R033 Ex dosing pumps can be equipped with stainless steel or PTFE pump heads. In the PTFE version, all components in contact with the fluid are made of virgin ultra-pure PTFE and special PTFE modifications, ensuring ultimate chemical resistance. The PTFE version of the Ritmo 033 Ex dosing pumps can therefore dose almost all aggressive acids, alkalis or solvents.
The consistent use of PTFE ensures maximum purity, absolute freedom from metal down to the ppb range and FDA compliance.
